Confrontation done correctly is something that separates good leaders/managers from Dilbert cartoons and ineffective figureheads.

It&#039;s still a skill that I&#039;m working on, but being able to have open, friendly communication about very crucial or sensitive issues while maintaining a feeling of safety and openness is as important as it can be challenging.  For a book that changed my entire perspective on this, I highly recommend &quot;Crucial Conversations : Tools for talking when the stakes are high&quot;.
